Club Meeting: Life After A Rotary Youth Exchange

Former Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) student Anna Knill, who attended Wilsonville High School in 2016–17 and was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wilsonville, will share her thoughts on her experience, as well as updates on her life since then. (Ms. Knill will be appearing live from Switzerland via Zoom.)

The Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. The club is holding hybrid “Virtual In Person” (VIP) meetings. Anna attended primary and secondary school in Uhweisen, Switzerland before attending high school in Schaffhausen, Switzerland and earning her diploma. She attended Wilsonville High School on a Rotary Youth Exchange in 2016–17, staying with three host families during the course of the year and enjoying a memorable year of making connections with classmates, Rotarians and others in Wilsonville. She has kept in touch with the club and its members since then, and is a dear friend of the club. From 2017–2020, she attended the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETH Zürich), a public research university in Switzerland, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in health science and technology. Following graduation, she did an exchange semester at the University of Groningen (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen) in the Netherlands. She is now studying for her master’s degree in biomedical engineering at ETH Zürich.
