Summer Concert: Band After Midnight (ABBA Tribute)

Looking for a chance to hear your favorite ABBA classics from the Mamma Mia movies and beyond? You don't have to stay up late to see Band After Midnight, Portland's sensational ABBA tribute, who will be making their series debut in 2026 at the Wilsonville Rotary Summer Concerts.
You know the songs. "Waterloo," "Dancing Queen," "Take A Chance on Me," "Fernando," "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!," "SOS," Super Trouper," "Does Your Mother Know," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," "The Winner Takes It All," of course "Mamma Mia" — need we go on? You'll hear them all and then some. There's a reason the Swedish quartet dominated the charts during their triumphant, decade-long reign. That reason is pure pop songcraft with maximum hooks and state of the art production. ABBA delivered it all with such efficiency and aplomb — plus surprising emotional depth — that you just shouldn't bother trying to resist.
Band After Midnight re-creates the full ABBA experience, musically and visually. Just as ABBA and the Mamma Mia movies made you dance in the aisles, BAM will make you dance on the Wilsonville concert lawn.

Opening Act: Water
Based in Portland, Oregon, three eclectic artists — Michele Van Kleef, M.J. Johnston and JIm Walker — have joined together to form a captivating acoustic trio, Water. With influences from 60’s jangle pop to 70’s folk-rock, from 80’s power ballads to 90’s flannel bands, these musicians have pooled their individual musical experiences into a group that flows together organically, harmonically and as effortlessly as their name.
Michele Van Kleef / Vocals, Guitar — A soulful, dynamic vocalist — formerly with the Pacific Northwest’s popular, touring troubadours, Calobo — Michele has released three melodic and lyrical solo albums. They include Just A Seed (2024), Your Own Way (2016), and After All (2012), plus an EP of some of her favorite covers, Front Porch (2022). Van Kleef has had her music placed in several films and tv shows. Her song "Willing" was featured globally in the film trailer for the Johnny Cash biopic, "Walk the Line".
M.J. Johnston / Piano, Keyboards — Originally from Chicago, M.J. combines blues, jazz, R&B, bluegrass, and rock music to create his own unique sound at the piano. Though his musical influences are diverse and ever-expanding, M.J. has deep roots in the blues and soul music of his childhood. Since moving to Oregon, M.J. has performed live all around the Northwest and is in-demand as a studio session musician, playing on a variety of albums, EPs and television commercials.
Jim Walker / Guitar, Vocals — A songwriter, singer, guitarist, producer and engineer with over 70 original albums, EP’s and singles released, Jim is equally at home on the stage as in the studio. Jim’s songs and instrumental music are in films and tv shows around the world, and his song, Something To Remember Me By, from the movie, Three O’Clock High continues to be a favorite among fans of strange cult films.
