Adrienne Scritsmier, Chair of the Wilsonville Kitakata Sister City Advisory Board, will explore the deep cultural ties and history shared between Wilsonville and its sister city, Kitakata, Japan. Known for its storied kura (historic storehouses), rich traditions, and world-famous ramen, Kitakata lies nestled in Fukushima Prefecture.
This presentation will highlight the geography and cultural features of Kitakata and the nearly 37-year connection that has flourished since the Sister City relationship began in 1988. Adrienne will share how this long-standing partnership has fostered cultural exchange, community bonds, and mutual understanding through educational and civic engagement.
The Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to provide service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. Guests are welcome.
