Rotarian Jake McMichael will share his story as part of our Member Spotlight and Classification Talk 2.0 during a Club Assembly. Club Assemblies provide an opportunity for members to receive updates on club activities, priorities, and plans, and to connect around the work of the Rotary Club of Wilsonville.
Jake has been a member of the Rotary Club of Wilsonville for 25 years and has witnessed firsthand the extraordinary growth of the club in both membership and the scope of services provided locally and internationally.
As a prelude to his Rotary reflections, Jake will offer a classification talk that traces his journey from growing up back East through his education and a twenty-year career in the U.S. Navy. He will also discuss his later work at Sandia National Laboratories in the nuclear weapons program and how his retirement years ultimately led him to Rotary.
Jake’s presentation will highlight not only his personal and professional path, but also how Rotary has played a meaningful role in his life and in the evolution of the Rotary Club of Wilsonville.
The Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. Guests are welcome. Lunch is available off the menu; please arrive and order by 11:45 a.m. if you are ordering lunch. For more information, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com.
