Medical Teams International:  Who They Are and What They Do.

Mr. Duane Younger, himself a volunteer with Medical Teams International, will explain what the organization is and what types of things it involves itself in around the world. Typically, those are natural disasters, conflicts, and responses to extreme poverty.  Mr. Younger will discuss some of the current hot spots around the world, and what the organization does at home  (e.g., mobile dental clinics).  He will also talk about his own personal short-term mission in Guatemala and provide about one minute on MTI financials.

Duane’s and his wife Willie have been married for 52 years; they have a daughter, son, and four grandchildren.  During his working years, he spent 40 years in sales, mostly industrial.  He retired in 2000 and has been volunteering at Medical Teams International for about seven years.  His typical duties involve working in the Tigard Headquarters distribution center, conducting “Real Life Exhibit Tours,” and being part of the Speakers Bureau.  He has gone on an MTI short term mission to Guatemala where he helped install wood stoves in a Mayan community.
