What an amazing year it has been as your Wilsonville Rotary President in 2018-19. As my year comes to a close, I have been reflecting on just how wonderful it is to be a part of this incredible organization.

When I first went to PETS (President Elect Training) back in March 2018, I had no idea what I was in for. I learned so much about how Rotary clubs function on a local, national and international level. I got excited. We have such an opportunity to impact our world. We’ve done this with existing programs like Heart of Gold, Wilsonville First Citizen, Through A Child’s Eyes, fundraisers, summer concerts for End Polio Now, and youth exchange. And new ventures, such as the Kenya school desk project, starting an Interact club, and adding a youth program director position to the board, have made this year stand out in my life as one of joy-filled service and deeper fellowship.

I am truly inspired each week by the commitment of our members to serve. There is so much experience and knowledge that while I have lead this club for the past year, I have also been soaking up the wealth of knowledge and passion for service.

I am enthusiastic for how Wilsonville Rotary will continue to grow and thrive under the leadership of Pat Wolfram. I am inspired to continue to grow as a community and global servant. It is with tremendous gratitude that I thank you for allowing me the privilege to lead Wilsonville Rotary this year and I look forward to engaging even deeper as time moves on.

Yours in Rotary Service,
Laura LaJoie Bishop
