Jordan Scoggins — 2017 Wilsonville First Citizen

Jordan Scoggins accepts the 2017 Wilsonville First Citizen Award from Club President Tim Knapp and District Governor Renee Campbell.

Jordan Scoggins was selected as the 2017 Wilsonville First Citizen. A dedicated educator at Wood Middle School, he serves as founder and advisor of the Jr. Scoops Student Activity Club. The students who participate in Jr. Scoops are taught how to make and sell artisan-quality ice cream, but much more than that, they learn real-world business skills — how to write business plans, how to maintain commercial food service equipment, the fundamentals of marketing, financial management, and many other aspects of running a successful business. The club’s motto is “Helping the community one scoop at a time.” All profits from Jr. Scoops are dedicated to helping others in need. Jordan has truly gone above and beyond his position as wellness instructor to make a positive impact on Wood students and the school culture.
