DESCRIPTION:Mayor Shawn O’Neil will share his vision for Wilsonville’s future and provide updates on city initiatives during this engaging presentation. As the city’s 10th mayor\, O’Neil steps into the role with deep knowledge of Wilsonville’s operations and a long history of public service. His remarks will cover key priorities\, current challenges\, and opportunities for civic collaboration. \nThis meeting is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the city’s leadership and learn more about the direction Wilsonville is headed in the years ahead. \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. Guests are welcome. Lunch is available off the menu; please arrive and order by 11:45 a.m. if you are ordering lunch. For more information\, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com. \nOfficial bio:   \nShawn O’Neil was elected as Wilsonville’s 10th mayor in November 2024 and took office in 2025. He brings a wealth of experience from his years on the City’s Development Review Board (2015–2020)\, where he served two years as Chair\, and on the Budget Committee (2021–2024). A 2016 graduate of the Wilsonville Leadership Academy\, O’Neil is deeply familiar with city operations and civic engagement. \nProfessionally\, O’Neil is the Managing Member of O’Neil Law LLC\, a firm he founded in Wilsonville over a decade ago. His legal background includes service as a Deputy District Attorney\, Senior Assistant Attorney General\, and Attorney in Charge at the Oregon Department of Justice’s Civil Litigation Section. He also served as a partner at the Portland law firm Mitchel\, Lang and Smith. \nO’Neil has contributed to the community through roles on West Linn-Wilsonville School District committees and as a transitional board member of Wilsonville Community Sharing. He is also known for his advocacy in public safety and inclusivity\, playing a key role in pipeline safety reforms and in the adoption of Wilsonville’s 2017 resolution declaring the city welcoming and inclusive—an effort that helped lead to the creation of the DEI Committee. \nA longtime Oregon resident\, O’Neil lives in the Rivergreen neighborhood with his wife Yumi\, son Tenzin\, and their yellow lab\, Curious George.
