SUMMARY:Club Meeting:  Wilsonville Police Department Update
DESCRIPTION:Wilsonville Police Chief Rob Wurpes will provide an overview of the Wilsonville Police Department\, including its design\, staffing\, and key data. This session offers a unique opportunity to better understand how the department operates and serves the community. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions\, as extra time will be dedicated to addressing them. \nThe Wilsonville Police Department is committed to preserving life\, upholding the law\, preventing crime\, holding offenders accountable\, and promoting safety. The department includes patrol officers\, traffic officers\, detectives\, sergeants\, a School Resource Officer\, a Community Service Officer\, and a Behavioral Health clinician\, supported by professional staff. Through a partnership with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office\, the department has access to a broad range of resources to enhance public safety and community support. \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. Guests are welcome. Lunch is available off the menu; please arrive and order by 11:45 a.m. if you are ordering lunch. For more information\, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com. \nOfficial bio:   \nRobert Wurpes started his law-enforcement career as a Reserve Deputy in Multnomah County in 1998. In 1999 he was hired by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. \nHe has served in several roles: Patrol deputy\, Field Training Officer\, Search & Rescue SCUBA diver\, and Marine Patrol deputy. In 2008\, he was named “Marine Officer of the Year” by the Oregon State Marine Board.  \nIn 2009\, he promoted to sergeant\, serving on Patrol\, Water Rescue Team supervisor\, PIO\, law-enforcement liaison on the State Fire Marshal’s Incident Command Team\, and as a member of a FEMA Type 1 water rescue team. \nIn 2013\, he was promoted to lieutenant\, serving as a watch commander\, Chief of Police for the City of Damascus\, and task-force lieutenant for TriMet Transit Police.\nRob is an Army combat veteran. He is married with 2 adult children. He is a motorcycle enthusiast and loves to travel having visited 27 countries.  \n\n\n	Related
