SUMMARY:Club Meeting: Empowering Students with Dyslexia
DESCRIPTION:Leslie Jenson\, a dedicated dyslexia advocate and licensed Oregon educator\, presents “Empowering Students with Dyslexia\,” where she will explore the nature of dyslexia\, debunk common myths\, and explain how the brain learns to read. This presentation aims to increase understanding and support within the community for both students and adults facing challenges in reading and writing. \nRepresenting Forge Education\, Leslie emphasizes the importance of individualized instruction in unlocking each student’s potential\, especially for those with dyslexia. With her extensive experience and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction\, she will share effective strategies and insights that advocate for educational approaches tailored to foster success and confidence in reading skills among students. \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. Guests are welcome. Lunch is available off the menu; please arrive and order by 11:45 a.m. if you are ordering lunch. For more information\, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com. \nOfficial bio: \nLeslie is a licensed educator with over 15 years of classroom teaching experience and 4 years as a dyslexia instructor prior to joining Forge Education.
