SUMMARY:Affordable Housing: Issues\, Ideas\, and Strategies
DESCRIPTION:John Morgan will speak on the topic of Affordable Housing: Issues\, Ideas\, and Strategies. He is the Executive Director of the Chinook Institute for Civic Leadership and the Leader of the Chinook Program\, the premier leadership development program for top-level public officials on the west coast. Mr. Morgan has spent his career in public service focusing on community development and organizational leadership in government organizations. A former Community Development Director\, Planning Director\, and City Manager\, Mr. Morgan brings to the Chinook Institute a strong focus on organizational development\, strategic thinking and processes\, a passion for public service\, and a clear understanding of leadership that works and how to learn and apply its principles. \nMr. Morgan is a principal with the MorganCPS Group\, an urban planning and organizational development consulting firm. MorganCPS provides long-range\, current\, and strategic planning services to many agencies and jurisdictions. He currently is leading the efforts to redevelop the waterfront in West Linn as well as serving many other communities in economic development\, planning\, and organizational issues. \nJohn also serves as a Senior Fellow of the Center for Public Service at Portland State University and teaches planning and economic development classes to local government officials around the state. \nJohn and his wife\, Mary Lynn\, are graduates of Willamette University in Salem. His degree is in urban and regional government and political science. Their four sons are fifth generation Oregonians. He loves to travel and camp in the summer\, and skis and teaches adaptive skiing for people with disabilities in the winter. \n\n\n	Related
