Topic:  The Forgotten War – The War Between South and North Korea.

Alan is a graduate of Georgia Military Academy, Ohio State University, and the Artillery Officers Candidate School at Fort Bliss, Texas.  He is also a former member of the Cupertino, California Rotary Club.  During the Korean War, he served as an artillery forward observer.  He is currently a member of a veterans group that visits high schools and reminds students about the courage and sacrifices of young Americans in previous wars. After retirement, Alan and his wife, relocated to Portland to be closer to their two daughters and grandchildren. In September, 2013, Alan and his wife, Lynn, visited South Korea as guests of the South Korean government to thank Korean veterans for their support in the war with North Korea.  Alan is a Vice President of the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association.
