Frauds, Swindles, and Thefts:  Postal Inspector Tips For Staying Safe.  Brendan Soenneckan, Postal Inspector, US Postal Service.  Mr. Soenneckan was appointed to a position with the US Postal Inspection Service in 2012, with the added bonus of being asked to move his family from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, to Portland.  Since arriving in Portland, Mr. Soenneckan has successfully participated in investigations of suspects involved in crimes that include: child exploitation, mail fraud, mail theft, bank fraud, burglary, identity theft, the illegal distribution of narcotics, counterfeiting, and wire fraud.  Earlier this year, Mr. Soenneckan successfully brought to a close the largest mail theft investigation ever conducted in Oregon.  It involved more than 1,000 victims of mail theft, identity theft, and fraud and resulted in the prosecution of 23 individuals in State and Federal Courts.
