DESCRIPTION:Bill Rhoades has served as superintendent of the West Linn-Wilsonville School district (WLWV) since 2011. Prior to that he was an assistant superintendent in the Hillsboro and Bend-La Pine School Districts. With more than 9\,000 students\, WLWV is the 14th largest school district in Oregon. As superintendent\, Rhoades has led efforts to create learning communities to support instructional leadership development\, standards-based professional development\, and the implementation of culturally responsive teaching and program models. With collegial support he has broadened the development of networks and partnerships with professional organizations\, higher education\, expert consultants\, and with the local business community. During his tenure the district has maintained (at nearly 90%) one of the top graduation rates for districts its size in Oregon and has increased the number of AP course offerings in its high schools to 27. Rhoades\, in his 35th year as an educator in Oregon\, has extensive instructional leadership experience moving theory into practice in the areas of curriculum\, instruction\, assessment\, and school improvement. He has led and/or developed successful bilingual progams in four school districts and has extensive experience in developing\, implementing\, and researching collaborative lesson study models for improving teacher and leader practice. Rhoades holds a B.S. and an M.S. from Western Oregon University. He completed the Resident Teacher’s Masters Program and earned a D.Ed. in Educational Leadership at the University of Oregon. Portland State University and the University of Oregon supported Dr. Rhoades in his administrative licensure work. \n\n\n	Related
