SUMMARY:Club Meeting: Being Light in Darkness
DESCRIPTION:Mike Tatlock of Grace Chapel will talk about the congregation’s new building and its initiative to support community organizations outside of the church through the use of the space. Partnering and proximity go together as we work side by side and share resources to increase the brightness for our community and those around us. We live in a world full of confusion\, fear\, anxiety and conflict. It can seem overwhelming and daunting\, but where’s there is darkness there is even greater opportunity to be light. Being light means being in proximity with darkness. It means to carry the brilliance of hope\, peace\, compassion and unity.  \nMike is the lead pastor at Grace Chapel and is chaplain for the Portland Trail Blazers in Portland\, Oregon. He has been one of the youngest teaching professors at Prairie College and Multnomah College and an adjunct professor at Western Grad School in Portland\, Oregon. He is an author\, frequent teacher at workshops\, seminars\, seminaries\, and churches around the world. His pastoral experience includes leading within urban\, inner-city\, and suburban churches. He has been on staff at Grace Chapel since 2004. \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. The club is holding hybrid “Virtual In Person” (VIP) meetings. People may attend in person\, or they may use Zoom (http://www.tinyurl.com/Rotary97070). Guests are welcome. Masks are required for in-person attendance except when eating\, drinking or speaking at the microphone. For more information\, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com.
