SUMMARY:Club Meeting: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Wilsonville
DESCRIPTION:Hilly Alexander will speak on the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program and its recent 10-year milestone in Wilsonville. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age 5\, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners in the United States\, Canada\, United Kingdom\, Australia and Republic of Ireland. The program was brought to Wilsonville by members of the Wilsonville Kiwanis Club and is currently managed by the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation. The program is currently supported by the Wilsonville Rotary Foundation. \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. The club is holding hybrid “Virtual In Person” (VIP) meetings. People may attend in person\, or they may use Zoom (http://www.tinyurl.com/Rotary97070). Guests are welcome. Masks are required for in-person attendance except when eating\, drinking or speaking at the microphone. For more information\, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com. \nHilly Alexander has enjoyed a long career in software development and information technology\, including tech support\, computer programming and software quality assurance. She started to volunteer at the Wilsonville Public Library while still working full time. Volunteering turned into a second career.  Since then\, she has served two terms on the Wilsonville Public Library Board\, led the campaign for the Clackamas County Library District in Wilsonville (2008)\, served on the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation Board of Directors since 2008 including two terms as president\, and managed the Wilsonville Imagination Library\, an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library\, since 2019. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Wilsonville.
