An avid powerlifter himself\, Rudy has broken over 45 American and World records since starting his competitive career at the age of 55. He will be discussing the importance of physical activity and resistance training as major keys to health and longevity. DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Dictionary defines Business Ethics as that which “relates to the rules\, principles\, and standards for deciding what is morally right and wrong when doing business.” Dr. Ken Fincher\, vice president of university advancement at the Oregon Institute of Technology and executive director of the Oregon Tech Foundation\, will discuss ethical decision-making for today’s business leaders and how having a culture of ethical decision-making can benefit all involved. \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. For more information\, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com. \nDr. Fincher was born and raised in LaGrange\, Georgia and attended Shorter College (Rome\, Georgia) where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in social sciences.  Ken has since gone on to receive a master of arts in philanthropy and development from St. Mary’s University in Winona\, Minnesota\, and holds a doctorate in psychology from the University of the Rockies in Colorado Springs\, Colorado. Professionally\, Ken has served in leadership roles within the Scouts BSA\, The American Red Cross\, The USO\, Shorter University\, the Sears Methodist Foundation\, and Washington State University. Prior to joining Oregon Tech\, served as the vice president of advancement and executive director of the foundation at Middle Georgia State University (MGA) in Macon\, Georgia. In his current role at Oregon Tech\, Ken is responsible for obtaining philanthropic support for student scholarships\, capital needs\, faculty support\, and research. He also provides professional leadership to the 30-member Oregon Tech Foundation Board of Directors. Additionally\, Ken supervises the staff in the alumni\, marketing and communications offices. Ken’s areas of research are emotional intelligence\, humor as an effective fundraising methodology\, and ethical organizational leadership. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.  Ken is married to Gretchen Fincher and they have four children. They are active in their community and enjoy being outdoors\, hiking and camping.

SUMMARY:Club Meeting: Coffee Creek: Managing Through the Pandemic
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE: This meeting will be at an alternate meeting location\, the Oregon Association of Nurseries office\, 29751 S.W. Town Center Loop West\, Wilsonville (across from McDonald’s). \nChristine Popoff\, assistant superintendent for rehabilitative services at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility\, and Josie O’Leary\, director of correctional rehabilitation\, will give a presentation on how the facility was managed differently during the COVID-19 pandemic. \nChristine earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Carleton College (Northfield\, Minnesota) and a Master’s Degree in Criminology from the University of Sydney in Australia\, which she received after being awarded an Ambassadorial Scholarship from Rotary. She has worked at the Oregon Department of Corrections since March 1997\, with men and women\, on the west and east side of the state. She served as Assistant Director of HR\, superintendent at two men’s facilities\, and as Assistant Superintendent of Security and now CRU at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility; She was the Program Services Manager at CCCF in late 1999 and helped open the minimum security facility and the medium security facility at the prison. Christine is close with her family\, her parents are in Newberg and she and her sister live in Keizer. She lives with her cat Rooney\, and is the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan ever! \nJosie was introduced to the Oregon Department of Corrections as a volunteer through the Portland State University internship program. Josie began her career as a contracted treatment counselor for an Alternative Incarceration Program at Columbia River Correctional Institution in 2013. In 2015\, Josie accepted a position as a Correctional Counselor and was promoted to the Correctional Case Management Coordinator in 2017 where she worked to implement case management standards and delivered a variety of trainings to correctional professionals. In November of 2021\, Josie joined the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility as the Correctional Rehabilitation Manager. She holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Criminology and Psychology from Portland State University. Josie is a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is a trainer for a variety of corrections topics with a passion for Gender Responsive practices. She recently presented at the American Parole and Probation Association conference in Chicago\, where she also tried deep-dish pizza for the first time. She gives it a thumbs up and did get a second slice! \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. She is a Certified Residential Specialist with an expertise working with investors and building wealth through real estate. Julie also has a passion for service\, having served as president of the Rotary Club of Tualatin and more recently assistant district governor for Rotary District 5100. Her passion is serving and giving back to her community and world. As a Rotary member she is delighted to have the opportunity to help others and be part of something greater than herself. Julie is the recipient of the 5 Star Professional Award every year since 2011. This is an award that is recognized by the largest and most widely published real estate agent award program in North America. Her selection is the result of a rigorous research process that included a regulatory and consumer complaint review\, and an evaluation of objective criteria associated with real estate agents who provide quality services to their clients. This honor reflects her hard work and dedication. Julie lives in Sherwood\, Oregon with her husband Steve. She’s a proud mom of two and grandmother of four.
