SUMMARY:Club Meeting: Concerts in the Post-Covid Era
DESCRIPTION:Jason Fellman (aka “J-Fell”) shares insights about the impact Covid-19 has had on live music\, the current state of the industry\, and a forecast for what lies ahead in 2022 and beyond. The presentation will examine the topic from multiple perspectives including musicians\, fans\, venues\, and concert producers. Special focus will be given to the Northwest and local markets as well. \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. The club is holding hybrid “Virtual In Person” (VIP) meetings. Attend in person (if masked or vaccinated) at Al Bader Shrine Center\, or attend virtually over Zoom at http://www.tinyurl.com/Rotary97070. Guests are welcome. For more information\, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com. \nJason Fellman is a promoter\, talent agent\, and performer who straddles the nexus between marketing and live music.  Jason is the owner/operator of J-Fell presents\, the highest volume tribute band show promoter in the Northwest. He is also the co-owner of Sterling Talent\, the largest independent booking agency in Oregon\, and co-owner of Harefest\, billed as the mother of all tribute band festivals. Through it all\, he remains an active working musician as the drummer for Stone in Love – Journey tribute and co-lead singer / rhythm guitarist for Radical Revolution – 80’s Tribute.   \nUpon graduating from Musician’s Institute (P.I.T.) with honors in 1992\, Jason taught drum lessons and played in several bands before enrolling in the University of Texas in Austin. While in Austin\, he co-founded FG Squared Integrated Marketing which served global 1000 clients such as Hitachi\, Dreamworks\, Canon\, Shell\, Tokyo Electron\, Cardinal Heather\, and many more. The company garnered countless industry awards including a prestigious distinction as one of the smallest companies to be included in the “New Media 500” list of the world’s most influential New Media businesses alongside Disney\, Microsoft\, Amazon\, and others.  \nAfter 10 years as CEO of FG Squared\, Jason returned to Portland\, Oregon where he was born and raised\, and immersed himself back into the local music scene while recording his first and only original music album.  When he started playing out with his new band he had an unexpected revelation; he was actually having more fun performing cover songs than he was with his own material.    Fueled by a desire to play ‘bigger and better’ gigs\, Jason founded J-Fell Presents and the journey continues to this day …
