SUMMARY:Summer Concert:  Hit Machine
DESCRIPTION:Hit Machine is a band you and your friends will never forget. Created by Bart Hafeman\, the energy projected from this seven-piece band is highly contagious\, to say the least. The band plays hits from all eras\, as it’s not uncommon to hear “Stayin’ Alive” (Bee Gees)\, “Kiss” (Prince)\, “Dynamite” (Taio Cruz)\, and “You Shook Me All Night Long” (AC/DC) all in the same set. The band has synchronized dance moves and many appropriate ways to involve everyone in the performance to make it an unforgettable evening. Hit Machine has been a guest of many prominent events surrounding the Portland Metro area including headlining Hood to Coast 2010-2015 in Seaside\, headlining the Fort Vancouver Fireworks 2010-2014\, playing many Blazer playoff games down at the Mona Center and for top notch corporate clients such as Nike\, Intel\, Sony\, HP\, Windermere and Comcast. \nWilsonville Rotary Summer Concerts take place on four Thursdays in a row beginning July 20. SUMMARY:Summer Concert:  Conjunto Alegre
DESCRIPTION:Conjunto Alegre\, which means “Happy Band\,” was created by Aquiles Montas in September 1987.  Aquiles brought vocalist Manuela Figueroa\, Rogerto Cruz and percussionist Amador Marcano. \nConjunto Alegre performed at Rose Festival\, Cinco Mayo\, Salsa en la Calle\, Mt Hood Jazz Festival\, the Mayor’s Ball\, Eugene Celebration\, Salem Art Fest\, Seattle Folklife\, Victoria British Columbia and many more festivals as well as at most universities in Oregon and Washington. \nConjunto Alegre has been selected to represent Latin music from the northwest by sharing the stage with many international and local acts such as Tito Puente\, Guilberto Santa Rosa\, Oscar de Leon\, Gran Combo\, Grupo Niche\, and Oro Solido. The band won Best Latin Band by the U.S. Army (1994)\, Best Latin Song at the Portland Mayor’s Ball and the Musicians Association (1998)\, and was selected to perform for Cirque du Soleil in Portland (1999) and Seattle (2000). \nWhat makes Conjunto Alegre different from other Latin bands in the Northwest is the variety of music styles they play\, such as Salsa from Puerto Rico and Cuba\, Merengue and Bachata from the Dominican Republic\, Cumbia from Colombia and El Salvador/Mexico\, and Chachacha. They also perform many songs in English. \nMontas’ love for the music shows on stage with his high energy instrumental performance\, directing the band\, dancing\, communicating with his singers on stage and most of all the connection with the audience\, giving them the atmosphere of being in the Caribbean islands. \nWilsonville Rotary Summer Concerts take place on four Thursdays in a row beginning July 20. SUMMARY:Summer Concert:  Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts
DESCRIPTION:Starting as a party gag in 1978\, Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts have become one of the most popular bands to perform the classic hits from the ’50s and ’60s. The Lugnuts fame spread beyond the Pacific Northwest\, dazzling audiences from Washington State to Washington\, D.C. Their performances have been enthusiastically received at corporate parties\, civic celebrations\, fairs\, fundraisers\, concert halls\, conventions and televised events. \nThe long list of annual return engagements is testament to the fact that Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts are “Can’t miss” entertainment and a hit with all ages … from kids to grandparents. \nJohnny Limbo and the Lugnuts have shared the stage with many national acts including Chuck Berry\, Chubby Checker\, the Righteous Brothers\, the Mamas and the Papas\, Three Dog Night\, Jan and Dean\, Johnny Rivers\, Rick Nelson\, The Ventures and Paul Revere and the Raiders. They toured the Far East with stops in Japan\, Korea\, and the Philippines. The Lugnuts played for the Oakland A’s at the opening game and were invited by Nike to perform for a special party at the close of the Los Angeles Olympics. Each year the list continues to grow. \nA Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts show is a toe-tappin’ tour of the Golden Era of Rock and Roll as they play tributes to such legendary artists as Elvis Presley\, Chuck Berry\, Bill Haley\, Buddy Holly\, the Beatles\, the Beach Boys and the Supremes. \nThe nine member band includes a knockout horn section that really swings on tunes from Memphis to Motown\, and a female vocalist\, allowing the band to feature many of the talented ladies of rock. In addition to the great music\, the show features colorful costuming and energetic choreography which always brings rave reviews. \nJohnny Limbo and the Lugnuts emphasize showmanship\, creating a never-ending energy on stage. The electricity generated by this sight-and-sound experience results in packed dance floors at every performance.
