SUMMARY:Club Assembly: Official District Governor Visit
DESCRIPTION:2026–27 Rotary District 5100 Governor Renée J. Fontenot will conduct her annual club visit as a representative of Rotary International to the Rotary Club of Wilsonville on Thursday\, July 9. This is a special event for any Rotary club. The district governor will address important Rotary issues\, focus attention on the annual Rotary message of “Create Lasting Impact\,” recognize club members and/or projects\, offer assistance to the club as needed\, and confer with club leadership. This is an important meeting for all members to attend\, but also a good chance for visitors to learn more of what Rotary is all about from one of its finest representatives. \nThe Rotary Club of Wilsonville meets weekly Thursdays at noon to carry out its purpose of providing service and fellowship to members and the Wilsonville community. Guests are welcome. Lunch is available off the menu; please arrive and order by 11:45 a.m. if you are ordering lunch. For more information\, email president@wilsonvillerotary.com. \nBiography: \nRenée J. Fontenot is the District Governor of Rotary District 5100 for 2026–27. She was born in Medford\, Oregon\, and has lived in several states\, touching all regions of the country. She returned to Oregon in 2021. She lives in Hillsboro and is a member of the Rotary Club of Tualatin. Renée joined Rotary in 2005 as a member of the Rotary Club of Milledgeville\, Georgia. In her years with the club\, she was named Rotarian of the Year three times\, served in various club board roles\, and served as club president\, 2015–2016. \nIn 2013\, she was asked to become a Learning Facilitator for Rotary Leadership Institute in Rotary Zone 34. She went on to serve as the District Trainer. In 2014\, she stepped up to serve as a facilitator for Peachstate PETS\, and later became the Peachstate PETS Evaluator\, serving for six years. Since joining District 5100 in 2021\, she served as a member and later co-chair of the Learning & Development Committee. Beyond Leadership and Training\, through her 21 years in Rotary\, Renée served various Rotary District leadership roles\, including: Public Relations/Public Image\, Information & Technology Chair\, Awards Committee Chair\, District Conference Committee Chair\, AG training Committee\, DG Executive team member\, and Assistant District Governor for the Portland Metro Region. \nRenée has maintained perfect attendance since 2008. In 2016\, she was part of a Rotary GSE team (Group Study Exchange) to District 1800\, Saxony-Anhalt and part of Lower Saxony\, Germany.\nRenée is a Triple Crown Donor: Paul Harris Fellow Society\, Polio Plus Society\, Bequest Society\, and Major Donor. In her free time\, she enjoys traveling and being outdoors\, especially kayaking/paddleboarding and hiking. She is pleased to have returned to Oregon; being with her family\, biological and Rotary; and enjoying the Pacific Wonderland.
