Anna Krill has been a fixture at Rotary meetings in Wilsonville since she arrived in the U.S. last August. A native of the Zurich, Switzerland area, Anna completed secondary school in her home town and came to the U.S. as an exchange student sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wilsonville. Anna stayed with three host families over the last nine months in Oregon, and summarized her many adventures when the Rotary met on May 18. She has also attended numerous volunteer activities with Club members, including our many Omelet Breakfasts and lots of Thursday meetings.

Rotary members agree that Anna has brought a lot of energy — and youth — to Rotary this past year. She has been a real trooper, getting up early and cracking eggs in preparation for a breakfast, or serving pancakes to wide-eyed kids of all ages. Anna came to Wilsonville’s WERK Day in May, where she helped feed some stalwart residents who braved a very wet weekend to help improve the town’s environment.

Anna speaks fluent English, German (of course), and understands French and Italian.  She has been a senior at WHS throughout the school year, taking Spanish, Advanced Chemistry, English, American History and other courses. Anna was active on the cross-country team in the fall and the swim team in the winter, helping the team make the state championships. Anna expressed excitement about graduating with the rest of her class in June, and will head back to Switzerland later in that month, with plans to start college and study health technologies near her family home. She will certainly be missed!
