Lonnie and Julie Gieber founded a nonprofit group called Random Acts of Kindness of Oregon, which facilitates donations and other assistance given to community members who are in need. Those helped by the program have included families affected by medical conditions and other unforeseen emergencies. Julie has also been involved in the MOMS Club and school PTAs.
